A Fool in Love

Your eyes reflect an image of a love-struck entity,
He watches, as your hair does a ritual like dance,
Mesmerizing, captivating, an embodiment of true beauty,
Still in awe, quakes transpire within him as your hand brushed his,
He studies your features, a converted believer in perfection,
The curvature of your smile, the indentation of a prominent dimple,
Fascination envelops the very essence of his being,
Anxiety follows, realization dawning on the fact that your hand is now in his,
Wit and common sense exits from the corridors of his mind,
A hypnotic trance would best describe his motions,
Just a breath away and yet,
How could a fool ever aspire to such heights?
But doesn't even a fool deserve a chance at love?
For how could he resist you?
You whose very words allow him to reach beyond this mortal plane,
In a world where only two mattered,
Dedication and commitment, he can see them so clearly,
For wasn't that all he had to offer?
His goals, dreams and aspirations in life altered,
These merging, all focused on your happiness,
"Give me a chance" he whispers along with a silent prayer,
His heart beats with the speed and strength of a charging elephant,
Sweat beads down his forehead, quickly swept away habitually with a cloth,
You nod, and so the journey begins.
