The last dance
~Dina Elkady
Just another moment
I won't delay you more
It's just the last dance
After that, there will be no more
Reach out to my hands
Gently, smoothly
Before the hours goes by
I won't shed a tear,
I won't even say goodbye
Promise you will hold me
Till the day is gone
Still, I will leave the music
To go on and on
Don't See how my eyes
Sculpture you at a glance
Don't wonder why
Don't ever wonder why
After all, it's my last dance
Don't be that far
It's not the time yet
Step and approach
Imagine we have just met
Breathe in my ears
Like you used to
Catch a flower within my hair
And sing our secret song
While you do
Don't ask about the time
There's no time
We are just one
One poem, with the most
Beautiful rhyme
We are just a dream
A faithful dream
Like no other on earth
And for this lonely dance
It was our mystical birth
Soar with me once
Again in the air
This moment I know
Isn't to last
It's more than rare
Don't lose me just now
I'm beginning to rest
Between your arms
There once was
My life and my zest
Can I dare to touch your cheek?
For old times sake
Before the candles weep
Before the lights go down
Before I feel the ache
All the melodies perished
I know I must stop
And the dance had reached an end
Just go 'n' vanish in the dark
Don't ask about that sound in the silence
It's just my teardrop.
