Relationship Advice from Dr. Luvmore |
Dear Dr. Luvmore,
I have been talking to this girl I know for about 2 weeks now and we
have a really good time together. She makes me laugh and we get along great.
I drove her home just today and she didn't even hesitate to go with
me when she already had someone else that drives her home. We are going
to go ice skating together soon.
I want to know how I can make her
think of me as her boyfriend but I dont know how to tell when we are a
couple.
What can I say or do to make her think of me that way or at least
get her to start to think that I might be thinking of her in that way.
Can you list some things that might indicate whether on not someone is a
couple?
Thanx

Dear Sincerely,
It sounds like things are going well between you two!
My first tip to you would be to visit some of the helpful on our pages - they can provide good information on flirting (which is what you want to do), and body language.
It sounds like your time ice skating with this girl will be your first 'real' date. Make sure not to take things too quickly, but there are definitely some things you can do on this date to show your interest. Here are a few examples:
Look her in the eyes when you're talking to her. Every now and then, hold the eye contact a little bit longer. If she meets your gaze (don't stare), its a good sign.
When you two are talking and sitting/standing near each other, reach out and casually touch her arm as you speak.
Lean in a little when you talk to her, romantic relationships have closer personal space than simple friendships.
Take a chance, hold her hand on the ice! Then, you may get another opportunity later to again hold her hand. Friends rarely walk around holding hands. Hand holding is a great sign of a potential relationship.
Most importantly, relax, be yourself, and have fun! She has gotten to know you to this point because she likes what she sees. Do what's natural to you and let things happen.
Please keep me informed!
- Dr. Luvmore
