About Jessica Simpson
Jessica Simpson was born July 10, 1980 in Waco, Texas and then grew up in Richardson,
Texas where she went to J.J. Pearce High School.
She began her performing career as a member of her church choir; at 12, she auditioned
unsuccessfully for The Mickey Mouse Club.
While attending church camp the following summer, Simpson was discovered by a
record company.
Her early singing career was in gospel
music but this was relatively unsuccessful. In 1999 she released a major label
debut record "Sweet Kisses" that went platinum.
She married husband Nick Lachey in 2002
and appears on the MTV show with him on the reality show Newlyweds.
