Relationship Advice from Dr. Luvmore |
Dear Dr. Luvmore,
There's a girl that I've really liked for around 3 years.
For the first year and a half, I really did like her to the point of thinking I was in love, but she didn't feel the same way so we were just friends.
After a while I got over it, and was happy just being friends with her, and got interested in some other girls.
She dated a friend of mine for a while, until she found out he cheated on her, and they broke up.
Anyway, now she seems a lot more interested in me than she used to be, but I can't believe she's totally changed her mind and is now interested.
She hasn't said anything but there have been lots of clues....like getting me to guess who she likes, etc. However, at the same time, she rarely returns my text messages.....it's very hard to work out. It's usually because she has a high phone bill but on this occasion I sent her a text asking her to ring me once so I could phone back - no response. She could have been asleep I suppose.....then she'll get it in the morning and I'll look stupid......
Anyway - any ideas?

Dear Uncertain,
It can't hurt to test the waters!
If this girl is unattached now, and is showing some signs of interest, why not take it to the next level.
You could ask her out for coffee or lunch without calling it a 'date' and see how things develop.
The little signs; extended eye contact, touching of the arm during conversation, and sitting closely to each other, often can be indications of a possible romantic interest.
Avoid asking questions that you think are important over text messages and don't place too much weight on her responses there - it's what happens in person that counts the most.
